Im Memoriam

Max (June 27th 1991 – July 13th 1998)

max-pagina-tile

Our first dog. A real male. Independent, quiet, tough and very likeable. A very stabile dog. We had to put him to sleep because he got a brain hemorrhage. Because of Max we learned that there is something like a “Dog virus”.

Honey Joy v.’t Norgerholt (February 1st 1994 – December 5th 2003)

Joy was our first Bernese girl. We have never used Joy for breeding as she had had an entropion. This is a hereditary eye problem and therefore not suitable for breeding. However, she was a lovely dog. She was an active and friendly Bernese. Also she was very social, both with people and other dogs and adapted well to all situations. Spondylose paralyzed her little by little and at the end she had no control over her feet. It was a hard decision to have to put this lively and furthermore healthy dog to sleep. We will always remember her.

Anzčre v.d. Hienderheuvel (March 7th 1999 – May 14th 2004)

Anzere 06-10-2002-tile

Anzčre was our first “Hienderheuvel girl”. She was a daughter of Fay. We have bred two litters with Anzčre. She was a strong lady with a very vivacious character. She was friendly to all creatures. She had one bad characteristic…..she ate everything put in front of her. The strangest thing she had eaten is a floss rope. Anzčre died at the age of 5 years due to tumours in her neck and at her spleen.

Beautiful Lowlands Angel White Sky (June 9th 2000 – February 1st 2005)

Sky 06-10-2002-tile

Sky was our first Pyrenean Mountain Dog. She was very affectionate, self assured and loved visitors. She liked to stretch out on our visitors laps. No matter who was around, children, another dog, she was always happy. Sky was the first Pyrenean Mountain Dog in the Netherlands with a MAG Certificate (Social Acceptable Behaviour). This character test is carried out to test the behavior of a dog with people.
After intensive treatment in Utrecht (it turned out she had Addison’s Disease), Sky gave birth to 6 pups on January 30th 2005. One pup was already dead. One day later Sky died. The pups were born too soon and therefore died one by one in a period of two weeks. Sky could not manage her disease with being dehydrated, giving birth, getting blood transfusions and having a caesarean section. If we only had knew that Sky had Addison’s Disease we would never breed her again. She became only 4 years old.

Sky was a marvellous dog and very well liked by people who knew her. We will therefore never forget her.

Funny Fay v.d. Tiliahoeve (January 31st 1996 – October 24th 2005)

Fay gave us our first Bernese litter in 1999. Five beautiful, heavy puppies were born which unfortunately damaged her back. Therefore, we stopped breeding with her at the one litter.

Further, Fay was an extremely sweet and kind-natured dog. She was a type of dog that preferred lazy over tired. Therefore, she liked to spend  the whole day on the couch even when the others were enjoying themselves outside. She was the type of dog that you could overlook easily. However, she reminded you when she needed cuddling or feeding. She loved being cuddled.

At the end Fay did not want to eat anymore. Even drinking was a problem. She did not want to go outside anymore. Despite medicins and treats we did not succeed in getting her to eat again. Fay has had more than five years of accupunctural treatments to make her back function. For us these were extra years. We have had the opportunity to give her a worthy departure. We strongly suggest that she died of Maligne Histiocytosis at her liver.

Fay was a proud lady and with proud we think about her!

Bryan v.d. Hienderheuvel (March 14th 2001 – January 18th 2008)

Bryan jan-tile

For a long time Bryan was the only boy here in our house. He was a son of Anzčre and so a grandson of Fay. Bryan was not suitable for mating because of his miserable forelegs. His character was like his mothers and grandmothers. Due to his size (71 cm) and weight (65 kg) and the fact that he was clumsy, he could be dangerous sometimes. He could knock you over. He was a very happy dog - his tail was always wagging. He was very independent and crazy about 'his girls'. This impressive boy will never be forgotten!
